A Note about Logitech Newer UE Smart Radio versus older Squeezebox Radio
With the Logitech UE Smart radio, it is different from the older original Squeezebox software. The older Squeezebox did accept adding custom radio station URLs which is a standard internet radio function. The UE will not accept Station URLs unless you revert the UE software back to the older Squeezebox-style software.
Logitech recently modified their UE software and added the ability to "Switch to Squeezebox" (after many complaints from upgraded Squeezebox users, Calm Radio, and even new UE users). Once you switch back to Squeezebox mode, then you can manually add our Station URLs to the Squeezebox Favorites using the mysqueezebox.com web portal.
Changing UE Smart Radio Software to MySqueezebox.com
- On your EU Smart Radio, from the Home menu, scroll down to "Settings" and enter
- In the Settings menu, scroll down to "Advanced"
- In "Advanced" menu, scroll down ro "Software Update"...press Continue
- After 5 seconds, return to the Home menu, and look for the "Software Update" in the menu. Proceed with the update
- Once the update is complete, choose your Wifi connection again.
- Then on your UE Smart Radio, go into your radio's Settings menu, then Advanced. At the bottom, select "Switch to Squeezebox"
- Once completed, your UE Smart radio will now have the ability to add URLs via Myqueezebox.com
Setup Instructions - Adding URLs
- Download a set of URLs from the Calmradio.com My Account menu. Look for Type 3 URLs as indicated.
- You will receive three types of URLs for each channel. Low, Medium and High speeds. Choose according to your internet speed. It's safest to simply use the Low URL to ensure WiFi connectivity with your modem.
- Then go to http://mysqueezebox.com and log into your existing account or create a new one.
- You will need to enter the special URLs into your MySqueezebox Favorites List
- Open the "Favorites" tab and carefully copy the link above in the "Add Favorite" field...then save.
- You will need to re-synchronize your Squeezebox device once all the URLs are copied into your favorites list
- Then, on your device, make sure you have your username an password of your mysqueezebox.com account entered in your radio. That way the radio can synchronize to your mysqueezebox.com account.
