Deep Sleep

Relaxing Sleep Music for a Deep, Peaceful Sleep

Calm Radio’s Deep Sleep music channel has some of the most relaxing music designed with the intention to induce a relaxing sleep. Rich, deep ambient sounds and melodies that are incredibly calming and trance-like. Very helpful as sleep music, and can also be used as meditation music.

Quality and quantity of sleep are essential to good health. Interestingly, the brain and your body stay remarkably active while you sleep. Biologically, sleep’s purpose remains a mystery, but the lack of quality sleep increases the risk of many health disorders.

Two biological mechanisms help regulate when you are awake and when you need to sleep.

Circadian rhythms control the timing of sleep based on the body’s biological 24 hour clock and external environmental cues like time, light and temperature.

Sleep-wake homeostatis drive can be affected by many factors such as stress and what you eat and drink, however the greatest influence on sleep-wake drive is exposure to light. Specific cells in your eyes’ retinas tell your brain whether it’s time to sleep.

Try these two tips when you can’t sleep:

1. Stick to a schedule. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. This will set your body’s Circadian rhythms.

2. Don’t lie in bed awake. Can’t sleep? Do something else. Read, listen to soft sleep music or calm music until you feel tired.
